DART offering free rides to the polls during early voting weekends, Election Day

Voters can ride at no charge on most Dallas Area Rapid Transit services on early voting Saturdays Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 and on Election Day, Nov. 3.

No proof of voter registration is required to ride free on DART bus, light rail, Dallas Streetcar, GoLink and Paratransit service and on portions of the Trinity Railway Express on those days, according to a release from the transit service.

DART transit options service Collin County and Dallas County as well as Denton, Ellis and Rockwall counties.

To map out a ride to the polls, DART offers a planning function in its GoPass app and has a Trip Planner online, as well as assistance from customer service, reachable at 214-979-1111. Trip planning options are also available directly through Google Maps by entering the voting location as the destination and choosing the transit option to get travel directions using DART, the release said.

Masks are required on DART transit options. Face mask dispensers are located on DART trains and buses for those who forget to bring them.

Voters are able to cast their ballots at any early voting location within their respective counties. Dallas County, Collin County and Denton County polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 17 and 24 and on Election Day, Nov. 3. Polling locations for Election Day vary based on each county.
