Officials from the city of Richardson, The University of Texas at Dallas and The University of Texas System gathered to welcome the second location of the Crow Museum of Asian Art, which is in Richardson.
A ribbon cutting ceremony for the Edith and Peter O’Donnell Jr. Athenaeum took place Sept. 24, one day before the museum opens to the public, ahead of a groundbreaking for a new performance hall at UT Dallas. The facilities make up two phases of a three-phase, 12-acre museum district called the Athenaeum.
In a nutshell
According to a news release, the first museum building will anchor a visual art campus known as the UT Dallas Art Museums. The second location of the Crow Museum will showcase Asian art exhibits along with collections from the Dallas Museum of Art, UT Dallas’ founding families and Latin American art.
