CBD American Shaman makes hand sanitizer, cleansing wash for franchise stores, including Richardson location

As local cases of the coronavirus continue to emerge, CBD American Shaman is using its manufacturing plant in Kansas City to make hand sanitizer and a cleansing wash to try to help slow the spread of the virus.

The businesses’ Richardson location on Audelia Road received shipments of the cleansing wash earlier this week and is expecting to receive the hand sanitizer next week.

As sanitizer and cleaners become harder to find and proper disinfecting becomes more important to fight the coronavirus, providing hand sanitizer and cleaner is something CBD American Shaman thought was important, said Mark Mavrikos, owner of North Plano Road location. The franchise also has a location on Audelia Road.

“We needed to find something that we could do to help the community,” Mavrikos said. “We pretty much shut down the factory in Kansas City so they could produce nothing but this right now because there’s such a need for it.”

The hospital-grade cleansing wash is made from hypochlorous acid and can be used on any surface as well as on hands, Mavriko said.

The store is selling 2-ounce bottles for $2.99 or 4-ounce bottles for $7.99, while gallon size containers are $64, according to Mavriko. Additionally, the store is giving away 2-ounce bottles of the cleansing wash with purchases while supplies last.

CBD American Shaman stores across North Texas donated 45 gallons of the cleansing wash to the Dallas Police Department as well as 100 2-ounce bottles and gloves, Mavriko said.

“First responders are literally saving our lives so the least we can do is make sure we help them in their time of need in any way we can,” Mavriko said.
