The department will use an interactive map offered through LexisNexis to deliver general crime information within the city. Tittle said suspect information or crimes involving juvenile perpetrators or victims would not be posted on the map, adding that crimes may also get reclassified following an investigation if the actual crime differs from what is reported.

Those interested in viewing reports can do so with the following filters:

• Radius near a location
• Specific crimes
• Address where a crime is committed

“We’re improving our community-public interaction with our crime mapping,” Tittle said. “The purpose of that is to improve our business processes, update our technology, increase efficiencies and promote transparency.”
