Here are 10 transportation projects that are upcoming or ongoing in Prosper and Celina, according to both municipalities' capital improvement websites.
Upcoming
1. First Street widening
Project: First Street will be widened from a two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane roadway from Dallas North Tollway to Coleman Street.
Update: The project was scheduled to start in the winter 2025 but was pushed to spring 2026. The project is 100% designed and bidding is 99% complete.
2. Coleman Street improvements
Project: The project will improve an existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided roadway from Gorgeous Road to Prosper Trail.
Update: The project is in the design phase, which is about 93% complete. It is expected to start later this year.
3. Gee Road construction
Project: Gee Road will be updated from US 380 to FM 1385. The project will include paving, drainage and a foot bridge.
Update: The project is in the design phase and is about 94% through the phase.
4. Coit Road Phase 2 widening
Project: Coit Road Phase 2 will widen Coit from a four-lane roadway to a six-lane roadway from Prosper Trail to Frontier Parkway.
Update: The project is in the design phase.
5. Coit Road improvements
Project: The project will reconstruct the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided roadway from Choate Parkway to Outer Loop.

6. Coit Road updates
Project: Coit Road will be reconstructed from a two-lane divided roadway to a six-lane roadway from Vest Lane to Choate Parkway.
Update: The project is in the design phase.
7. Frontier Parkway updates
Project: The Texas Department of Transportation will be reconstructing the existing asphalt roadway to four lanes from Preston Road to Custer Road.
Update: The project is 60% planned and TxDOT is waiting on funding to start construction.

8. Coit Road widening
Project: Coit Road is being expanded from a four-lane roadway to a six-lane roadway from First Street to Prosper Trail.
Update: The project is under construction and expected to wrap this summer.
9. Legacy Drive traffic signal
Project: A new traffic signal is being added at the future intersection of First Street and Legacy Drive.
Update: The project is under construction and nearing completion.
10. Oklahoma Drive improvements
Project: Oklahoma Drive from Pecan Street to Malone Drive is being updated. The project will replace the existing asphalt roadway construction with two concrete lanes and associated drainage, signage and pavement marking improvements.
Update: The project is under construction and waiting on utility relocations, according to the city of Celina’s website.
