Construction crews are gearing up for Celina’s 2026 Annual Street Maintenance Project.
The city’s annual maintenance and rehabilitation program helps extend the lifespan of Celina’s roadways through targeted repairs, according to city documents.
Celina City Council approved $8.1 million for this year’s repair work at a July 14 meeting.

The most intensive part of the Annual Street Maintenance project is full-depth reclamation, which will be focused on downtown streets, Public Works Director Andrew Figueroa said.
Full-depth reclamation is a rehabilitation method where the existing road is pulverized and recompacted to repair distressed pavement, according to Texas Department of Transportation documents.
Portions of North Florida Drive, Lynn Stambaugh Parkway and several downtown streets are all set to undergo full-depth reclamation this year, according to the contract.
As part of a separate project, the city plans to convert all downtown streets to concrete in the next 10-15 years.
Downtown streets slated for full-depth reclamation during this year’s annual maintenance are roadways that will not be converted to concrete in the near future, Figueroa said.

The 2026 Annual Street Maintenance program also involves various smaller repairs around Celina, such as:
Roads that are pressure paved can be driven on after 30 minutes, are fully dry after 24 hours and can see their lifespan extended by 10-15 years, according to his presentation.
“This technique allows us to get in and out of a neighborhood within a day,” he said.
Looking ahead
Construction will wrap up within six months once work begins this summer, according to the terms of the contract.
