Carey Road remains closed to traffic as improvements continue

Carey Road is expected to remain closed until early 2025 after shutting down for a nearby infrastructure improvement project in west Celina.

The gist

Carey Road, which is located between Smiley Road and Legacy Drive, is scheduled to stay off-limits until 2025 to drivers as contractors work on a four-month Green Meadows infrastructure improvement project, according to an update in City Manager Rob Ranc’s Oct. 25 report.

Green Meadows is a neighborhood community located just north of Carey Road. Drivers needing to get to Carey Road can still access the area from Legacy Drive, also known as CR 6, throughout construction.

The road first closed the week of Oct. 28, according to the report. If construction takes the full four months, weather permitting, it should reopen in February.
