1. Development plans underway for future tollway corridor in Prosper, Celina
With construction on the future Dallas North Tollway corridor expansion wrapping up next fall, Prosper and Celina officials are planning for what developments along the corridor should look like. Tollway development in Celina could include office campuses, entertainment venues, hotels and employment centers. In Prosper, officials are planning for mixed-use developments featuring retail, restaurants, offices and housing.

Check out five new places to eat in Plano. The Korean- and French-inspired Cafe Meltie opened in early April and offers coffee, tea, juice and pastries, while Desperados serves a variety of tacos, such as shrimp, fish, brisket and grilled beef.

3. Burlington debuts McKinney store offering clothes, home goods
Burlington is now open in McKinney, according to a company social media post. Burlington is a New Jersey-based department store that offers clothing, accessories and home goods. The McKinney store filled a space that previously housed fabrics store Joann.

4. Plano ISD proposes decreased tax rate for next fiscal year
Plano ISD’s tax rate is set to decrease heading into fiscal year 2026-27. The proposed property tax rate of $1.0328 per $100 of appraised value would be a decrease of around 0.65% from fiscal year 2025-26. Homeowners may still see an increase in taxes paid due to an estimated increase in appraised home value, PISD Chief Financial Officer Courtney Reeves said.

5. See 10 upcoming, ongoing construction projects in Frisco
Check out 10 transportation projects that are upcoming or underway in Frisco, according to the city's capital improvement website. Upcoming projects include Frisco Street, which will be constructed from Eldorado Parkway to Panther Creek Parkway into a four-lane divided roadway, and Hillcrest Road, which will be updated from SH 121 to Main Street.

6. McKinney council approves zoning for senior housing development
McKinney leaders have signed off on a zoning request for a proposed senior living community north of US 380. City Council members unanimously approved new zoning for nearly 10.5 acres near the northeast corner of Lake Forest Drive and US 380 during a May 19 meeting. The new zoning will accommodate a 222-unit senior living community called Forest View Senior Housing.
