Prosper ISD leaders have approved the largest pay raise in the district’s history.
The district’s board of trustees unanimously approved a compensation plan for district employees that included a 3.5% raise for full-time staff to encourage retention and recruitment April 15.
“This is the biggest raise that has ever happened in the history of Prosper ISD,” Superintendent Holly Ferguson said.

Officials worked to give raises in spite of financial constraints the district is under as schools did not receive any additional funding from the state, Ferguson said. An increase in public school funding did not come from the 88th legislative session, which started in January 2023.
Starting teacher salaries were also increased as part of the compensation package. Teachers new to Prosper ISD with zero years of experience will have a starting salary of $60,000 in 2024-25, which is up from $58,250.
"It’s a good move for us from a recruiting and retention standpoint, and [I’m] excited for what we are able to offer,” trustee Jorden Dial said.
