Prosper ISD, Celina ISD announce Jan. 9 school closures

All Prosper and Celina ISD schools will close Jan. 9 in anticipation of snow, sleet and freezing rain expected to sweep through the Dallas Fort-Worth area, according to updates from both districts.

A closure notice posted to the PISD’s website on Jan. 8 stated all schools would be closed on Jan. 9. All after-school activities are also canceled, according to the post.

District maintenance staff are preparing facilities for “extreme weather conditions” and any updates will be sent out to parents through email, text messages, social media and on the PISD website, according to the post.
