Celina High School’s marching band is getting a new trailer to accommodate the program’s growth.
The Celina ISD board of trustees unanimously approved the $128,750 purchase on Sept. 18. This purchase includes $37,750 for repairing the trailer as well as $99,990 for lighting, build-out of the interior and installing graphics, according to district documents.
A closer look
The Bobcat Band, which was the UIL 4A State Champion for marching in 2022, has grown in size. The band will see another jump in growth as over 100 students are in Moore Middle School’s band program with a retention rate of 80% going into high school, CISD Chief Operations Officer John Mathews said.
