Bella Prosper, a proposed 62-acre mixed-use development south of First Street near Legacy Drive, is moving forward in Prosper.
The development represents a $240 million investment in Prosper’s growing commercial corridors, a project representative said.
Prosper Town Council approved the planned development at a June 9 meeting.
The details
Bella Prosper aims to create a walkable community with residential, commercial and recreational components, town documents state.
The developers plan to build Bella Prosper in four phases:
- Phase 1: retail and restaurants
- Phase 2: townhomes
- Phase 3: offices and child care facility
- Phase 4: offices, retail, restaurants and a hotel
Bella Prosper will also include a central park, esplanade and water feature, the representative said.
How we got here
Council tabled the zoning case four times following the Prosper Planning and Zoning Commission’s unanimous recommendation of approval last September.
The developers worked with town staff to make major modifications to the proposed development, including:
- Removing multifamily housing
- Removing assisted living
- Reducing the number of townhomes
“This is like the 900th iteration, and I think you’ve arrived at a very quality product,” council member Marcus Ray said.
Looking ahead
Design work for the project will last until 2027, and construction will run from 2028-2035, according to a development schedule submitted by the applicant.
