A data center could be coming to Prosper.
The project, called Project Tomahawk, aims to build a data center on 39.3 acres near the southeast intersection of FM 1385 and Parvin Road, according to town documents.
Prosper’s Planning and Zoning Commission is set to consider the project on Aug. 18, town staff said at an Aug. 4 meeting.

While the town has not yet published the official application for Project Tomahawk, the developer, White Rose Partners, has published a website with information about the project.
The center will be designed to mitigate power demands, water use and noise generated by the center, according to the developer.
The proposed data center is next to a Brazos Electric Power Cooperative substation, and the developers will pay for any necessary upgrades incurred by the data center’s usage, according to the website.
Project Tomahawk will also use a closed-loop design to limit water usage, and the project will include sound-dampening screens and greenery as part of the project’s proposed development standards, per the website.

White Rose Partners first started discussing the project with town staff roughly 60 days ago, said David Hoover, Prosper’s director of Development Services.
“With all the press that goes on with data centers, we had a lot of questions,” he said.
Town staff’s biggest concerns over the facility related to power, water and noise, which the developer took into consideration in their proposal, Hoover said.
“It’s gone through the staff, multiple reviews, and now it will go to the planning commission on the 18th,” he said. “That’s where the opportunity will be ... for the public to hear all of the facts in the proposal, as well as being able to offer comments.”

The developer’s website states the project will work with relevant federal, state and local officials to meet all relevant requirements but did not specifically address Governor Abbott’s pause on new projects.
