New Central Fire Station to be unveiled in Prosper

Once open, the facility will house both the Central Fire Station and Fire Administration, according to the news release. It is also designed to house a truck company, an engine company, an ambulance and a battalion chief, according to the news release.

The station’s other features include:

• A dual-purpose executive conference room and emergency operations center
• The fire marshal’s office
• A fitness facility
• Sleeping quarters for up to 13 firefighters
• Four pull-through apparatus bays and two additional apparatus bays
• A 9/11 memorial museum for the public

Construction on the new fire station first broke ground on Feb. 11, 2022.

Now, more than one year later, finishing the 30,800-square-foot facility marks the end of the second phase of Prosper’s public safety complex.

The first phase, building the Prosper Police Station, ended with a grand opening at the new police station in October 2020. The third phase of the safety complex will include building a public safety training facility for both firefighters and police officers, according to the press release.
