1. G Avenue paving and water improvements


Project: Crews will replace a waterline and pavement on G Avenue between 14th and 15th streets. Improvements will also add on-street parking, enhance sidewalks and update traffic signals.
Update: Community Investment Project Engineering Manager Clay Lipscomb said the project is in its final design phase and construction will start in Quarter 4 of 2026.
Project: New turning lanes, concrete pavement, barrier free ramp reconstruction, sidewalk replacement and signal modifications along Spring Creek Parkway at Jupiter Road, Chase Oaks Drive, Ohio Drive, Preston Meadow Road and Parkwood Boulevard.
Update: Lipscomb said easements for the project are almost completed and designs are done. Construction is estimated to start in 2027.
Project: The city is planning to repair a section of Shady Brook Trail that has degraded and is currently closed.
Update: Park Planning Manager Katie Dunham said the project will be in the final stages of its design phase in the fall. Construction should start in mid-late 2027.
Project: A new 1.6-mille trail will extend from Bradshaw Drive to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Shiloh Station.
Update: Dunham said the project is in the final engineering design phase and construction is estimated to start in spring 2027.
5. Median Renovation along 15th Street
Project: The city will be working on irrigation and tree replacement between Custer Road and Mill Valley Drive and also from Independence Parkway to Coit Road. Dunham said the medians will have 164 new trees.
Update: Dunham said the contractor will be examining 15th Street’s medians to determine a starting point and begin work July 15. Westbound and eastbound inside lanes along the street between Custer Road and Coit Road will see closures Monday through Friday from 9 a.m-4 p.m. during construction.
Project: The city is replacing and repairing roughly 2,100 feet of sanitary sewer lines along Shiloh Road from Plano Parkway to East 14th Street.
Update: The eastbound outside lane on 14th Street from the driveway west of Shiloh Road to Shiloh Road will be closed through July 10.
7. Coit Road asphalt overlay (concrete repairs)
Project: Crews are working on arterial concrete repairs.
Update: Public Works Community Investment Program Manager Drew Zaeske said concrete repairs have been completed and the contractor is finalizing minor items for the project. He said the asphalt overlay is planned for next summer.
Project: Crews are working to improve intersections in west Plano, including Corporate Drive and Legacy Drive.
Update: Lipscomb said the project is substantially completed and minor items are being wrapped up in July.
