Traffic crashes in Plano have decreased by 2.5% year to year from 2024 to 2025, according to the Plano Police Department.
The department provided an overview about the latest traffic data for the city at a joint meeting with the city of Plano and Plano ISD on April 30.

The city had a crash rate of 17.89 crashes per 1,000 residents in 2025, according to Plano Police Department data. Plano Police Chief Ed Drain said the department determines the significance of a decrease in the city’s crash rate based on the five previous years.
