Plano residents will now see city enforcement of a no parking zone along a section of 10th street in downtown Plano.
The gist
The city placed no parking signs Sept. 1 along a section of 10th street near Iron Avenue, and is located near the DART Silver Line.
The section was recommended to be a no parking zone to remove visibility obstructions for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians near Cotton Belt Trail per city documents, and violators may be fined.
The background
Plano City Council approved the zone Aug. 24 at a regular meeting. DART’s Silver Line opened in October 2025, which included the 12th Street and Shiloh Road stations in Plano.
The DART Silver Line’s Cotton Belt Trail is planned to extend into a 57-mile hike-and-bike trail from Plano to downtown Fort Worth. The trail’s third phase of construction is estimated to be completed in 2027, and will connect current stations with Cypress Waters, Addison and downtown Carrollton per previous reporting.
