Heritage Farmstead Museum to reopen for small group tours in Plano

The Heritage Farmstead Museum is expected to reopen to the public Sept. 2.

Since closing in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the farm has added 10 new lambs and a new pig.

Small groups will be allowed on the grounds on Wednesday and Thursdays. These visits will be offered at a limited capacity and will not include a house tour, according to an Aug. 29 release. Educational displays will be posted around the property, and guests will have opportunities to feed the farm's free-ranging chickens.

Personalized self-guided tours will also be available at a limited capacity on Fridays and will include a look at the farm's Ammie Wilson House and Young House. These visits will conclude with a hay ride through the farm.

Masks will be required inside all buildings and in outside spaces when interacting with people outside of immediate family, the release said.
