Plano City Council approved a new economic incentive for the truck and trailer parts company, FleetPride, at a meeting Oct. 26.
The gist
FleetPride will invest $2 million in property improvements to an office space at Granite Park 3 for a $400,000 economic incentive, according to city documents. The company sells truck and trailer parts at distribution and service centers throughout the U.S. and Canada, according to its website.
Plano Director of Economic Development Michael Talley said the city prioritizes any opportunities for more jobs in Plano.
"[Economic incentives are] a commitment from us, but they have to perform and they have to invest their dollars into the city, into a building and they have to create the jobs," he said.
FleetPride will bring jobs equivalent to 393 full-time employees to the 83,939-square-foot office space, per city documents. The company is expected to bring at least 325 full-time jobs or the equivalent by Dec. 31, 2027 and maintain the jobs for at least 180 days before grant payment.
The background
The corporate office for FleetPride is currently located in Irving, Texas. The company merged with the heavy-duty distributor, TruckPro, in 2025 according to a news release. The company is expected to relocate to Plano before the end of 2027.
The city has approved various economic incentives this year, including for the new AT&T headquarters and for Daisy Brand sour cream, per previous reporting.
Plano provides economic incentives to attract and retain businesses through its Economic Development Grants. Plano City Council approved a 2-cent per $100 valuation property tax increase in 2006 to allocate funds for incentives.
