Just over 6,000 Collin County residents vote at Plano polling locations ahead of Election Day

Roughly 6,000 people cast ballots at polling locations in Plano during early voting, according to data from the Collin County Elections Office.

In Collin County, 21,727 residents voted in person, and 2,506 mail-in ballots were received, county Elections Administrator Bruce Sherbet said. That translates to a voter turnout of 3.7% of the 657,347 registered voters in Collin County. Sherbet said he expects a final voter turnout of around 6%.

There were seven early-voting locations open to Collin County residents in Plano. The busiest location was Carpenter Park Recreation Center, which saw 1,581 voters between Oct. 18-29. The location with the fewest voters was Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, which logged 286 ballots during that same time frame.

The final day of early voting saw the most traffic with more than 1,560 people casting ballots at Plano polling locations Oct. 29, according to the election office.

While there are no local elections this cycle, Plano residents have the opportunity to vote on eight statewide propositions. A full list of the propositions can be found here.

After the first seven days of early voting, Denton County logged 17,482 in-person ballots and 1,457 mail-in ballots, according to data from the elections administration office. That is a voter turnout of nearly 3.3% of the 571,755 total registered voters in Denton County.

Voters who reside in the Collin County portion of Plano can vote at any countywide polling location on Election Day. Denton County residents must vote in their assigned precinct.
