A new Plano ISD superintendent could be identified as early as March 6. After the resignation of former superintendent Brian Binggeli, the next steps in hiring a new superintendent came into focus after the Plano ISD board of trustees' meeting Tuesday. The board approved the procedure and timeline for hiring the next superintendent after deliberating in closed session. The timeline and procedure outlined by board President Missy Bender is as follows:
- Feb. 7: Position for superintendent posted internally for 10 calendar days starting Feb. 7
- Feb. 20: The board will review the applications and select applicants to interview.
- Feb. 21: In closed session, the board will interview candidates and discuss further necessary action.
- March 6: if a candidate is identified, the board will be name the finalist. Otherwise, an external search will begin.
