Plano ISD appoints new principals for Plano Senior High, McMillen High

New principals for Plano Senior High School and McMillen High School were approved by the Plano ISD board of trustees April 6.

Jeffrey Banner was named principal of Plano Senior High, and Todd Williams was chosen as the new principal for McMillen High. Banner is currently the principal at PISD’s Shepton High School, while Williams is currently associate principal at Plano West Senior High School.

Both will take on their new positions for the 2021-22 school year.

“Research tells us that the campus principal is a significant driver of student success on the campus in Plano ISD,” Assistant Superintendent for Employee Services Beth Brockman said. “These candidates demonstrate their commitment to excellence every day in their current positions.”

After being introduced to the board, Banner said he is excited to meet his new Wildcat family and join the Plano Senior High team.

“I have a great work family; a lot of people in this room that have supported me for 15 years in this wonderful district,” he said. “I just couldn't be more excited and proud to be here.”

After Williams was introduced, he thanked his family and the board for their support over the years.

“I am so looking forward to embracing the McMillen family and being a part of that and bringing the excitement back to the campus,” Williams said. “[I want to get] us where we need to be in order to be successful and help every single student every single day to bridge the gaps in the community.”
