Plano ISD has extended its partnership with TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy, ensuring the continuation of a program that allows students interested in cosmetology to get a jumpstart on their education.

The PISD board of trustees approved a continuation of the partnership between the district and hairdressing academy through the 2035-36 school year during its May 7 meeting.
The partnership launched last January, allowing incoming 11th graders selected by lottery to enroll in the program that provides 1,000 hours of cosmetology instruction. Successfully completing the two-year program allows students to take the state cosmetology licensing exam as a graduation senior.
