The ISDs of Round Rock, Pflugerville and Hutto will remain closed on Feb. 2 due to conditions caused by the ongoing ice storm.
While the winter storm warning is expected to expire at 6 a.m. Feb. 2, power outages and tree damage in Central Texas will force many districts to close for a third straight day.
Pflugerville ISD Superintendent Doug Killian in a letter to parents said the district first considered a two-hour delay but then wanted to assess the condition of the schools from the storm damage and lack of power.
“We expect to be open as usual on Friday, Feb. 3,” Killian said in the letter. “Hopefully by then all power will be restored to our district, and our staff and families will be able to safely make it to our buildings.”
