Pflugerville ISD classes canceled Feb. 3 due to predicted inclement weather

As of the morning of Feb. 3, information from the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio district states confidence is high that a significant icing event will take place through the Hill Country and into the I-35 corridor from New Braunfels to Georgetown, including the Austin metro area.

The NWS is predicting freezing rain changing over to sleet for some areas is forecast to begin early in the morning of Feb. 3 across the Hill Country and advance southeast through the day as temperatures fall below freezing.

Up to a quarter inch of ice accumulation is possible in the winter storm warning area; however, some isolated higher pockets of accumulation are possible, according to the NWS.
