Pflugerville to offer rideshare voucher program via Uber partnership

Council will discuss the program further at a future meeting in September, where it will establish more precise details, such as the program's name, exact service area and amount the city will cover per ride.

Assistant City Manager Emily Barron said the program could be made to include select locations outside city limits, such as the Austin Executive Airport and the Capital Metro Park & Ride station at Tech Ridge.

In recent discussions on the city's Pickup pilot program with CapMetro, officials reported that the Tech Ridge station is the most common destination for Pickup riders.

"We are getting very valuable information [from the Pickup pilot] about where our citizens are going, where they want to go, what has worked [and] what has not," Council Member Kimberly Holiday said.

A TRIPP representative said the program will also have several wheelchair-accessible vehicles on standby for passengers who need them.

The program is scheduled to begin Oct. 1, just after the Pickup pilot ends Sept. 30.
