Pflugerville officials approve advancement of improvement at Cameron Road, E. Pecan Street intersection

Pflugerville officials moved forward on a transportation project that will help improve traffic and safety at high-traffic intersection east of SH 130.

City Council made the approval during a Nov. 30 meeting.

The Cameron Road All-Way Stop Project involves work at the intersection of Cameron Road where it meets East Pecan Street east of SH 130.

To advance the all-way stop project, council approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to execute an interlocal agreement with Travis County regarding construction and fiscal obligations.

City information stated the project will realign the area to create an all-way-stop intersection.

Work was anticipated to begin in November, but city staff said the start time has been delayed.

Because council approved the interlocal agreement, city staff said the item will go to Travis County for approval in December.

Provided Travis County officials approve the agreement, staff said a new start time for the intersection upgrade is anticipated for January or February and will take six months to complete.
