The city of Pflugerville set the maximum tax rate at $0.5428 per $100 valuation after a 5-1 vote at an Aug. 13 City Council meeting. The rate is 1.69 cents higher than the no-new-revenue rate.

For the average taxable homestead valued at $364,433, this represents an annual increase of $143.49, or almost $12 a month. The fiscal year 2024-25 budget will focus on safety, economic development, infrastructure, parks, programs and services, according to city documents.
City Council could vote to accept a lower tax rate, but this figure represents the highest figure for the upcoming fiscal year. All council members were in favor of the proposed maximum rate of except Place 6 City Council member David Rogers.
