The background
Thornton moved to Hutto in 2010. He served on various Hutto boars and commissions beginning in 2017, before becoming a member of City Council in 2020.
Thornton replaces Gordon as mayor pro tem. The role involves performing the duties of the mayor in the case of their steed.
