Hutto City Council will meet Aug. 31 to vote on items changing its proposed tax rate for fiscal year 2023-24, set to start Oct. 1. Previously, council was set to vote on its tax rate Sept. 7.
City documents show officials will consider multiple measures to change its proposed tax rate from the no-new-revenue rate of $0.402114 per $100 valuation to the higher voter-approval tax rate of $0.465251. The voter-approval rate is $0.063137, or 15.7%, higher than the proposed no-new-revenue rate and triggers the calling of an election should council pass it.
