Meet the candidates
The current seat holder is interim council member Charles Warner, who was appointed June 8 after the resignation of former council member Brian Thompson on Dec. 22.

What will be your top priorities if you are elected?
Responsible growth, infrastructure planning, and protecting residents. Hutto is growing quickly, and we must ensure roads, water, public safety, and services keep pace. My focus is planning ahead, not reacting, while protecting quality of life and avoiding unnecessary tax burden on homeowners.
What uniquely qualifies you for this position?
My background in housing and development gives me firsthand experience in how growth impacts infrastructure, utilities, and taxpayers. I understand the planning decisions cities face and bring a practical, real-world perspective focused on long-term outcomes, not short-term reactions.
What do you see as the greatest challenge facing Hutto, and how will you address it?
Managing rapid growth is Hutto’s biggest challenge. If not planned properly, it strains roads, water, and services. I will focus on long-term planning, coordination with Hutto ISD, developers, and infrastructure partners, and disciplined decision-making to ensure growth strengthens the community rather than overwhelms it.
What is something you want Hutto residents to know about you?
I’m committed to listening, being accountable, and making thoughtful decisions that serve the long-term interests of Hutto. Residents will have a voice, and I will approach every decision with transparency and a focus on doing what’s right for the community.

What uniquely qualifies you for this position?
I believe my background as a psychologist, pastor, chaplain, and community advisor—along with years helping families navigate complex systems—uniquely qualifies me to listen, serve, and advocate for residents.
What do you see as the greatest challenge facing Hutto, and how will you address it?
Hutto’s greatest challenge is rapid growth that strains infrastructure and public safety. I will focus on long-term planning, balanced development, and transparent decision-making.
What is something you want Hutto residents to know about you?
What I want residents to know about me is simple: I am here to serve, not to be served.
What will be your top priorities if you are elected?
Build strong relationships with Hutto ISD; invest in public works such as road and sidewalks, waterlines, and senior assisted facilities; attract businesses to invest in Hutto to help create opportunities for Hutto residents; work with Hutto Chamber of Commerce to bolster our local economy and sustain our community owned businesses.
What uniquely qualifies you for this position?
I have a BBA in Economics from Texas State University, worked in Central Texas in both tech firms and within the consumer retail environment and since 2018 have been involved in local political organizing; phone banking, block walking, candidate and policies canvassing and 2020 US census.
