Important dates to kick off the 2023-24 school year in Hutto ISD

Hutto ISD opened its doors to more than 9,600 students for the first day of the 2023-24 school year Aug. 10.

Construction progress on the new Gus Almquist Middle School campus continues, with an expected opening in August 2024, district officials said during an Aug. 10 meeting. Ground broke on the new school in January.

Looking ahead

Check out some important dates for Hutto ISD students.

• The first long weekend for students will be Sept. 2-4.
• Thanksgiving break is a full week during Nov. 20-24.
• Winter break starts Dec. 15 and classes will resume Jan. 3.
• The last day of school is May 23.
