Pflugerville officials approve zoning for future Camp Doublecreek site

The future Pflugerville site of Camp Doublecreek is officially zoned for outdoor recreation.

Camp Doublecreek, a children’s day camp founded in Round Rock in 1971, announced last July it would relocate to a new property on Kelly Lane in Pflugerville.

At a Jan. 25 meeting, Pflugerville City Council approved public facilities and open space zoning for the 20-acre site Camp Doublecreek will eventually move to.

Camp Doublecreek will also require a special-use permit, which council will consider granting at a future meeting.

"It's a blessing to see [Camp Doublecreek] looking to build here," Council Member Rudy Metayer said.
