The Hwy. 6 reconstruction project has been delayed due to a material supply issue, according to Danny Perez, Texas Department of Transportation public information officer.
The project covers CR 99 to Second Street, otherwise known as Brazos Street, in Alvin, and was originally scheduled to finish in August.
It will take about another month to complete the pavement overlay; however, construction cannot be completed until the new rock aggregate material has been approved, according to Perez.
Other parts of the reconstruction have been completed, such as the addition of radars to existing traffic signals, Perez said.
