Kelsey-Seybold Clinic health care blog named among best in country

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic’s health care blog was named the 12th best in the U.S. by Newsmax Health, the media outlet revealed Oct. 15.

“We’re pretty excited about [being named a top blog],” said Ann Cook, Kelsey-Seybold vice president of business development. “We think it means that our blog has been recognized for [its] credibility.”

Cook said the company launched the blog in January but had been working on its content since 2014.

“We’re big believers that blogs are a great way to reach people,” Cook said. “The data we had [showed] a lot of people were getting health care information through blogs, especially younger readers. We are always interested in finding ways to get credible health information to our patients and prospective patients.”

Kelsey-Seybold physicians write the blog posts and the topics include a wide range of health information from treating ailments to wellness tips.

Cook said the blog subjects are chosen based on how frequently people search for them online.

“Virtually any type of health topic that you can think of is appropriate for the blog,” she said. “We try to be topical and relevant, so we really want to be there for patients who have questions about specific health topics and just want to learn more.”
