Friendswood ISD received a superior rating on the state mandated Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas.
The FIRST system was established prior to the 2001-02 school year to rate school districts based on performance indicators in order to assess the quality of financial management in public schools.
This year, changes to the system assigned a letter grade of A through F based on 16 indicators. Results were tallied for the 2015-16 rating based on the 2014-15 school year.
Five indicators are used to grade school districts. Critical factors include completing an annual financial report on deadline, making outstanding bond payments on time and making timely payments to government agencies.
