The nonprofit SEVA Clinic, based out of the Pearland Neighborhood Center, 2335 N. Texas Ave., Pearland, is celebrating its first anniversary with an open house at 10 a.m. May 19. Founding chairman Dr. Periyanan Vaduganathan provides part-time care along with a team of volunteers, including a general practitioner, three nurses and a pediatrician. The clinic provides free routine health care and now offers lab services in partnership with Memorial Hermann. It has provided medical care to more than 1,000 patients in its first year, diverting many from having to go to emergency rooms or avoid receiving care completely, Vaduganathan said. The clinic accepts patients from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday. 281-942-7382. www.pnctexas.com
