Upcoming projects
Bee Cave Parkway sidewalk improvements
Project: The project will add sidewalks along Bee Cave Parkway from Market Street to Bee Cave Road, as well as along the south side of Bee Cave Road from the H-E-B parking lot to Tennison Hill Drive, according to agenda documents.
Update: Bee Cave City Council officially approved the item at the Feb. 24 meeting.
Local transportation officials are gearing up to gather the final round of public comments on the Parmer Lane Corridor study.
The project from the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Texas Department of Transportation could bring various safety and mobility improvements along Parmer Lane from MoPac in Austin to Whitestone Boulevard in Cedar Park.
The study will use public input to help the agencies more clearly define and identify feasible improvements to make on Parmer, CAMPO officials said.
Officials will hold the in-person public hearing March 25 from 4-7 p.m. at the Rattan Creek Community Center where community members can submit comments. A virtual public comment period will also open March 25 and close April 27.
Ongoing projects
Project: The city of Round Rock is reconstructing Chisholm Trail Road from Sam Bass Road to RM 620, with drainage, pedestrian, and lighting improvements.
Update: Construction recently resumed. Pedestrian improvements are under design. In February, traffic was temporarily rerouted to address utility issues.
Plans for a new roundabout near CR 137 and FM 1660 in Hutto are in the works, as City Council approved grant funding for the project during a March 12 meeting.
The project, which is being led by the Hutto Economic Development Corp., includes the construction of a roundabout and additional lanes at the intersection of CR 137 and FM 1660. The project is meant to help traffic flow better along the two roadways.
Road widening, pedestrian improvements and the addition of a center turn lane is also expected for CR 137, running north of Brushy Creek to FM 1660. Some improvements to pedestrian paths and drainage is also planned for a small portion of FM 1660.
Completed projects
Project: The new pedestrian and bicycle bridge runs over Lady Bird Lake, connecting the Ann and Roy Butler Trail at Mt. Holly Peninsula, Canterbury Park and Longhorn Shores. The new underpass links Longhorn Shores to Krieg Fields and the Roy G. Guerrero Trail, featuring a 5,000-square-foot mosaic mural.
Update: The bridge and underpass opened Feb. 7.
The Southwestern Boulevard project, which constructed a two-lane road from Raintree Drive to Southeast Inner Loop in Georgetown, is complete.
This half-mile segment of Southwestern Boulevard has two lanes with a center turn lane, right-turn lanes at intersections, as well as utility work and curbs.
The $3.5 million project was funded by voter-approved Williamson County and city of Georgetown bonds.
The new road segment will allow access to the new Williamson County Administration Building, currently under construction.
