Burnet Road Mobility Program
Project: The project will feature updated traffic signals, improved crossings, bus stop improvements, trail connections, curb extensions, drainage improvements, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant shared-use paths, raised medians and more on Burnet Road from White Horse Trail to US 183 (C2), Bright Verde Way to MoPac (C3) and US 183 to Bright Verde Way (C4).
Update: An August update from Austin Transportation and Public Works officials stated that construction on all three segments has been underway since early June. C2 is expected to be completed in July 2027, followed by C4 in October 2027 and C3 in December 2028.
Oak Knoll Flood Risk Reduction
Project: The project is part of the Watershed Protection Department’s Capital Improvement Program and will improve the storm drain system in part of the Oak Knoll neighborhood to reduce the risk of flooding, including installing new pipes and inlets on several roads and easements, and increasing the capacity of the Chelsea Moor detention pond.
Update: Per an Austin Watershed Protection Department Sept. 1 update, work continues with the installation of a box culvert on Columbia Oaks Drive. The initial phase of construction is expected to be completed this fall, with the bulk of construction on track to wrap up in early 2028.
Spicewood Springs Road Regional Mobility Project
Project: The project includes widening the two-lane road into a four-lane road with left-turn bays, creating two water detention ponds and pedestrian and bicycle shared-use paths, and improving the storm drain system, water transmission and wastewater lines.
Update: An Aug. 11 update from the city stated that weather-related delays throughout the spring and summer had pushed the project's substantial completion from late 2026 to summer 2027. Starting in September, work will be underway on shared-use pathways on both sides of Spicewood Springs Road, and crews will continue to work on rain gardens and paving travel lanes this fall.
