Check out three ongoing transportation projects in Northwest Austin, including projects along 183 North, Burnet Road and Loop 360.
183 North Mobility Project
Project: The project features two express lanes in each direction on US 183, a general-purpose lane to bring the number of nontolled lanes to four in each direction, new shared-use path connections, new sidewalks and cross-street connections for bicycles and pedestrians.
Update: According to the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, crews are working to complete concrete surface grinding and paving along the main lanes, with lane closures beginning at 8 p.m. Work is expected to last throughout the summer. Crews have already completed and opened the northbound and southbound express lanes and direct connectors as part of the overall project.

Burnet Road Mobility ProgramProject: The project will feature updated traffic signals, improved crossings, bus stop improvements, trail connections, curb extensions, drainage improvements, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant shared-use paths, raised medians and more on Burnet Road from White Horse Trail to US 183 (Segment C2), Bright Verde Way to MoPac (Segment C3) and US 183 to Bright Verde Way (Segment C4).
Update: Construction on Segments C2 and C4 began in March. According to Austin Transportation and Public Works, two sets of crews will work simultaneously along the corridor toward US 183 throughout the rest of the year before completing C2 in July 2027 and C4 in October 2027.

Loop 360 at Courtyard Drive/RM 2222Project: The project is part of the Texas Department of Transportation's slate of projects along 14 miles of Loop 360 in West Austin and is part of the Texas Clear Lanes congestion relief initiative. This segment will remove the traffic signal from the Loop 360 main lanes at Courtyard Drive and construct an overpass, reconfigure RM 2222 at Loop 360 to a diverging diamond interchange, and add shared-use paths and sidewalks.
Update: Crews broke ground on the project April 29. A left-lane closure at the northbound Loop 360 exit ramp to RM 2222 is ongoing as of May, per TxDOT.
