1. Dedicated left-turn lane
On Oct. 1, City Council approved a cost-share agreement for $130,078 with Austin Board of Realtors to fund construction of a left-turn lane on Spicewood Springs Road and drainage improvements on ABoR’s property, 4800 Spicewood Springs Road. ABoR is contributing $310,864 toward the project, which aims to relieve congestion on the two-lane roadway. A start date for construction has not been set. 2. MoPac construction
This fall crews are continuing installation of a retaining wall for a bypass lane at Steck Avenue on the northbound side of MoPac. Work also continues to widen bridges at Waters Park Road and Park Bend Drive as well as at RM 2222. Paving of the variable-priced toll, or express, lanes is ongoing between Parmer Lane and RM 2222. Overhead signs are also being installed. Timeline: October 2013-2016 Cost: $204 million Funding sources: state and federal funds
3. Parmer Lane resurfacing
The Texas Department of Transportation will repair and resurface the portion of Parmer Lane from SH 45 N to the Travis County line just north of McNeil Drive. The project goes out for bids in January. Timeline: summer 2016 (construction) Cost: estimated $2.55 million Funding sources: TxDOT
