More than a handful of businesses have closed recently in Northwest Austin, including national brands and locally-owned businesses. Here is a roundup of stores that have closed their doors for operation.

High-end confectionery retailer Sugarfina closed its Domain Northside store at 11700 Rock Rose Ave., Ste. 140, Austin, in early January. www.sugarfina.com

Nelo’s Cycles and Coffee ceased operations at 8108 Mesa Drive, Ste. B105, Austin. The bicycle maintenance and repair shop also served coffee and breakfast items. www.neloscycles.com

Red Pepper Szechuan Restaurant closed its doors at 2700 W. Anderson Lane, Ste. 212, Austin, in late 2019. The restaurant served authentic Szechuan cuisine.

Cosmetics company Nyx closed its Domain Northside store at 11621 Rock Rose Ave., Ste. 120, Austin, in fall 2019. www.nyxcosmetics.com

Sometime in 2020, AlMar Furs will close at 10435 Burnet Road, Ste 109, Austin. A store employee said a closing date has not been set, but it could be in March. The owners, Al and MaryAnn Freidin, are retiring. The store offers sales and service for furs. 512-346-0375. www.almarfurs.com

National fast-casual restaurant chain Taco Cabana announced Jan. 13 it closed 19 locations across Texas, effective immediately, including the store at 8620 Burnet Road, Austin. In a news release, parent company Fiesta Group stated the closures are targeted to “eliminate all stores with significant losses.” www.tacocabana.com
