Music Under The Star: James McMurtry with Akina Adderley
Kicking off the 2017 Music Under the Star series on Friday is Texas singer-songwriter James McMurtry, with Akina Adderley opening at 6 p.m. Complimentary garage parking will be available, and guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Central Texas Food Bank. Food, beer and soda will also be available for purchase, and blankets and camp chairs are permitted. 'Cocktails and Cranes' event reveals installation of 1000 origami cranes
Asian Family Support Services of Austin, a locally based Austin nonprofit serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence, is unveiling a large origami crane installation at Tiffany and Company in the Domain. The installation is a part of the Thousand Cranes of Peace fundraising initiative and pays homage to a Japanese legend that folding 1000 origami cranes grants a wish.
