One day before the Texas Education Agency declared that school districts may offer up to eight weeks of online-only instruction, Pflugerville ISD released drafts of its plans to begin the school year and transition back to in-person learning.
At the July 16 PfISD board of trustees meeting, Brandy Baker, chief academic and innovation officer for the district, reviewed plans for the first three weeks of instruction with trustees and other district administration.
“We have a way forward. We just have a lot of work to do and not a lot of time to do it,” Baker said July 16.
Those draft plans outline guidances for district families looking to prepare for the onset of the 2020-21 academic year. As it stands, PfISD students are set to return to learn beginning Aug. 13, according to the district’s website.
