The interior of Austin's future Oskar Blues Brewery smells of fresh paint, and the sound of power tools echoes throughout the 50,000-square-foot space, but Marketing Director Chad Melis said the brewery will open in 30-45 days. Eventually, Melis said, the brewery located at 10420 Metric Blvd. will provide all the canning for the state of Texas. "It's set up to be scaleable and grow," he said. The space will include a taproom with a stage for live music. A bar in the taproom will open to an outdoor patio, where guests can enjoy the brewery's staple beers as well as experimental brews that are exclusive to the Austin facility. Melis said he anticipates when the brewery opens in late May or early June, operating hours will be 10 a.m.-9 p.m., and food trucks will be parked on-site.
