Parmer Lane is saying goodbye to beloved bookstore Half Price Books in February after 18 years of business.
What to know
A notice was placed on the front door of the business stating its closure as a result of being “unable to agree to terms on a new lease.”
The notice stated products from the Parmer location can be returned to any of the six remaining greater Austin locations. Coupons and gift cards can be used at other locations as well. No other stores will be affected by the closure.

The location originally opened in 2008 and has since offered the local community a wide selection of books, video games, posters, CDs, vinyl, games and more.
The assistant manager at the location stated the store will be shipping a large portion of its merchandise to other stores across the metropolitan area and Dallas. The remaining merchandise will be sold during a blowout sale where customers can find everything in the store for 90% off from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.
