The 5,000-square-foot project cost roughly $2 million and took about one year to complete, LSC-Montgomery President Rebecca Riley said. “Increasing capacity for training helps more people prepare for rewarding careers,” Riley said. “Lone Star College prepares students to meet the employment needs of our local businesses by providing training in the most up-to-date learning environment. This facility is clearly no exception.” Before the LET building was constructed, students in the program were limited to a temporary building for five years, Riley said. Now, students have access to cutting-edge lighting, sound and camera equipment within its computer, lighting and sound, and video labs. “The LET program trains students to design, set up and operate lighting, video and audio equipment,” Riley said. “LSC-Montgomery is one of an elite group of schools in the nation to offer associates degrees in LET. The programs gives students interested in working behind the scenes in entertainment the opportunity to achieve higher education.”
