Interim Council Member Paul Bond will take Coale's place until the May 6 city election. Coale announced his unofficial resignation from his position on the council at a Jan. 9 City Council meeting, citing personal commitments and time constraints. There will be a swearing in ceremony for Bond at the next City Council meeting Feb. 13. City Council members also appointed Clint McClaren as the council's representative to the Economic Development Corporation board to take Coale's place. Dawn Candy was also appointed to the EDC board in place of Paul Bond, who gave up his EDC board position to be appointed as an interim council member.
