The newly expanded 60,000-square-foot Williamson County Expo Center will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 10 and a grand-opening ceremony Nov. 12.
The ribbon cutting will also celebrate the opening of the Bill Pickett Trail, a new roadway that will essentially provide access to the Expo Center.
Clint Chitsey, WilCo Expo Center general manager, said the center is available for several different types of events.
“The new Expo Center will be able to host not just larger events such as livestock shows, rodeos, farmers’ markets, banquets, concerts, proms, and festivals, but also smaller or more intimate events like weddings, family reunions, trainings [and] meetings,” Chitsey said.
The expo center hosted the Taylor Rodeo on Sept. 23-34. The total cost of the project was $12.4 million, which was funded with voter approved park bonds.
The grand-opening ceremony will feature live music, food and guided tours of the facility between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. as well as a horse show by
Williamson County 4-H Hoofpicks.
