Incumbent Mary Horn won the Republican nod for Denton County judge with a decisive 54.14 percent of the votes.
Challengers Paul Ruggiere came the closest to Horn with 33.33 percent of the vote, and Sherman Swartz trailed with 12.53 percent of the vote. (34.09 percent) and Sherman Swartz (11.67 percent).
"I am very grateful to all my great friends and supporters that helped me throughout the campaign," Horn said. "I'm very grateful for all the support and am honored to continue serving the county for the next four years as county judge."
Horn has held the position since 2002. She has no Democratic challenger in the Nov. 4 election.
In the Republican primary for Denton County clerk, Juli Anne Luke, with 61.22 percent of the vote, handily defeated challenger D'Lynne Shelton, who had 38.78 percent of the vote.
I am humbled by the results of last night's election and appreciate the voters' confidence in me," Luke said. "Frisco came out strong in my favor and I'm thankful. I'm looking forward to serving the taxpayers of Denton County and looking toward a bright future."
Current Denton County Clerk Cynthia Mitchell chose not to seek re-election.
Luke has worked in the county clerk's office for more than eight years.
There will be no Democratic challenger in the Nov. 4 general election.
Results are unofficial until votes are canvassed.
